Změna číslování v katalogu

All,

At the recent CIVA Meeting in Krakow this year we approved a major change to the numbering system of the Aresti catalogue. The change is intended to make the numbers more logical, and to allow the introduction of new figures for 2012 without them being ‘orphaned’ away from their existing cousins, and also to align figures inserted in previous years.

Note that – with the exception of the 2012 additions – the figures themselves have not changed, and neither have their K factors. You will be able to fly your 2011 Free in 2012 without change, but your paperwork must be revised to 2012 standard with the new catalogue numbers to be acceptable.

I can tell you that Alan Cassidy, author of the Aresti sequence design software, will make a free update to the new 2012 standard available to all registered owners of the software; you’ll need to contact him direct to pursue that. I also understand that Miki Golan is working on a similar update to the free Olan software, date of release unknown.

If you get involved in Free or Free Unknown – or for that matter any type of – sequence design then you will definitely need to work in accordance with the new catalogue numbers, or you’ll not be able to create acceptable Form-A pages, or add the correct catalogue numbers / K-factors table to Forms B&C.

It is CIVA policy to make known details of all pages in the catalogue that are changed each year, prior to the Aresti family taking such changes on board and producing updated copies of their printed catalogues for general sale. I can tell you that this interim period has just started, and CIVA President Mike Heuer has just sent me the following email:

Please advise your pilots who plan on competing in FAI Aerobatic Championships that they should obtain the new Catalogue. In the meantime, however, CIVA will make the revised pages of the Catalogue available on our website under “Documents” and “Other Documents” on that page. Go to this link for the full story which includes a link for the download: www.fai.org/civa-news/35335-civa-approves-major-revisions-to-catalogue.

This PDF will be available until such time as Aresti System SL notifies CIVA of the availability of the 2012 version of the Catalogue, as required by our contract with this company.

I strongly advise you to take advantage of this opportunity …. or you’ll need to pay for the official booklet from Aresti in due course. Please let me know if you have any questions.
